ALOR Tokens
With the May 2025 airdrop of ALOR NFT tokens to contributor wallets (or to DEED-holding wallets where applicable), every parcel in Aetheria is now able to be operated (built on, rented, or the ALOR can be sold).
ALORS have many functions, which includes in some cases functionality beyond what the underlying LAND token offers.
- Voting in the Aetheria DAO (coming soon).
- Assigning a wallet (yours or another builder) to deploy scenes to the associated Parcel(s).
- Rental functionality (coming soon).
- A benefit for the community as a whole: ALORs that are owned by lost, abandoned or neglected wallet accounts can still be used by the district, guided by the DAO, for the benefit of the community, until and unless the ALOR holder returns and elects to use the land or to transfer the ALOR. This is really a big deal for the long term, as it solves a problem that cannot be solved with raw LAND tokens that are abandoned: more and more Land outside of Aetheria will over time become abandoned or lost and unrecoverable. In the physical world this is call urban blight.

Why did the district change to issuing ALOR tokens in 2025?
We perceived that there weren’t good processes or incentives in place for much of the DEEDed land, and especially community-allocated land, to be developed. Although the development profile of Aetheria has been similar to that of Decentraland as a whole, we hoped that Aetheria would be much more active, being a tight and theme-based community that got so much contribution to its founding idea.
So the district entity decided to evolve the tokenization, and issue ALOR tokens for every parcel in Aetheria, and airdrop them, for free, to the contributors (or for DEEDed parcels, to whoever held the DEED).
Every land parcel in Aetheria is now controlled by uniquely associated ALOR token.
The 10005 ALOR tokens were all airdropped in May 2025 to the following wallets:
* If the parcel had a DEED associated with it, then to the then-current DEED holder
* For all other parcels, to an original contributor.
The location of privately-allocated land was preserved, and any additional ALORs for that wallet were placed adjacent to the originally privately-allocated plot, enlarging it.
The placement algorithm also tried to buid plots that were as close to rectangular as were possible given the existing privately allocated plots
The DEED NFTs still exist, but their functionality is locked and obsolete.
How do I find any ALORs that I own
There are several ways to find and work with your ALOR tokens.
These are described in detail in the ALOR Token User Guide.
